Before using impact analysis, the impact analysis administrator
needs to upload and share COBOL and PL/I, and assembler source files.
About this task
z/OS® Extensions gathers
impact analysis data from source that has been uploaded into partitioned
data sets. To prepare for impact analysis, the impact analysis administrator
needs to allocate one partitioned data set for each type of source
to be analyzed, for example, one PDS for COBOL source, one for copybooks,
one for panel definitions, and so on. Typically, these PDS members
might number in the thousands or tens of thousands. These partitioned
data sets need to be shared for read-only access so that team members
can query the impact analysis data and access the data for compilations.
