Using the Remote Build feature
The Remote Build feature submits build requests from DevOps Code ClearCase® client platforms running on Windows®, Linux®, and the UNIX® system to z/OS® (MVS™ and z/OS UNIX System Services). This feature consists of both server and client components.
As part of the build request, you can request that Remote Build return the derived objects to the client platforms, where you can create a version of them in DevOps Code ClearCase.
You can start a build request either at the operating system prompt or through a script or makefile. You can reference build scripts and input files on either client or server machines. The remote build server also supports build requests made through parameterized build sample scripts, which enable you to submit build requests directly from the DevOps ClearCase Explorer, Windows Explorer, a UNIX command line, or the Rational® Developer for System z® or Eclipse platforms.
The Remote Build server is multithreaded and starts a new job for each request. Builds run concurrently and are limited only by system resources, such as z/OS JES initiators, and by a server option.
Remote Build supports multiple server instances, which you set up through different z/OS ports.
