About using Rational Team Concert with ClearCase UCM
You can integrate ClearCase® UCM activities with Jazz Team Server work items by using the integration between ClearTeam® Explorer and Rational® Team Concert.
You can use the integration between ClearTeam Explorer and Rational Team Concert to associate ClearCase UCM activities with Jazz Team Server work items. When using ClearTeam Explorer version 8.0.0.2 (or later) with Rational Team Concert version 4.0 (or later), users can specify work items to associate with UCM activities when performing various ClearCase operations, such as: checking in, checking out, adding to source control, moving, renaming, removing, and merging.
A Jazz Team Server work item can be associated with multiple UCM activities and a UCM activity can be associated with multiple work items. An association between a ClearTeam Explorer UCM activity and a Jazz Team Server work item is made automatically any time a new activity is created in the integrated environment. The user can specify the associations between activities and work items that are made by the integration automatically and users can also create or remove these associations manually.
The operation of the ClearTeam Explorer UCM integration with Rational Team Concert is controlled by preferences on the Windows -> Preferences -> Team -> IBM® Rational Team Concert -> ClearTeam Explorer preference page in Eclipse. These preferences control whether the integration is active or not, whether the associations between UCM activities and Rational Team Concert work items are mandatory or optional, whether to display UCM activities or Rational Team Concert work items in various ClearTeam Explorer contexts, and what the prefix text is for the name of any new UCM activities that are created in the integrated environment.
Users can view the associated UCM activities and work items from the context of either the UCM activity or the Jazz Team Server work item.
For more information about the integration between UCM activities and Jazz Team Server work items, see Using Rational Team Concert with ClearCase UCM.
