Finding promotions

You can find promotions in the Promotions tool by browsing the promotions list for your store, the promotions calendar, and promotion folders. You can also find a promotion by searching for a specific promotion.

About this task

If a promotion is included within a folder or is archived, some options might not be available for you to use to find the promotion:
  • You can use only the Advanced Search feature to find archived promotions. For more information about archived promotions, see Archiving promotions.
  • If an administrator configured the Promotions tool to not display promotions in the Promotions - List view when the promotions are in folders, you cannot browse the list view to find promotions that are in a folder. You also cannot browse the promotions calendar for the main Promotions list to find promotions that are in a folder.

    To find these promotions, you can search for the promotions, browse your store promotion folders, or open and browse the promotions calendar for specific folders. For more information about this configuration and the behavior of promotions in folders, see Organizing promotions with folders.

Procedure

  1. Open the Promotions tool.
  2. Select one or more of the following methods to browse or search for the promotion.
    • Search with the Simple Search feature.
      1. From the find area at the upper right, type the promotion administrative name or public promotion code in the search field. From the list, select Promotion and then click Find to run the search. Use an asterisk ( * ) to indicate a wildcard search. The search results display in the main work area.
    • Search with the Advanced Search feature.
      1. From the list in the find area at the upper right, click Advanced Search. Use one or more of the following search filters to refine your search:
        • Promotion name
        • Start date
        • Promotion type
        • Redemption method
        • Status

        When you search by Promotion name, the Advanced Search feature searches for any matching administrative name or public promotion code. You can use an asterisk ( * ) to indicate a wildcard search. If you do not include a value in this field, the search behaves the same as when only a wildcard character ( * ) is entered in the field.

      2. Click Search. The search results display in the main work area.
    • Browse the Promotions - List view of promotions for your store.
      1. From the explorer view, click Promotions. The Promotions - List displays a list of the promotions that are defined for your store.

        By default, the main Promotions - List view for the Promotions tool can display 500 promotions per page for a maximum of 1000 promotions. If your store has more than 1000 promotions, the main Promotions - List view does not display any promotions.

    • Browse the promotions calendar
      1. In the explorer view, right-click Promotions. Click Show Promotion Calendar.
      2. Go to the displayed promotions in one of the following ways:
        • Enter the date range in the Range fields.
        • Scroll the date range selector horizontally by using the scroll bar under the selector.
        Note: You can resize the width of the date range selector by using either the preset widths, or by dragging either side of the date range selector.
    • Browse promotion folders
      1. From the explorer view, expand Promotion Folders and select a folder. The Promotion Folders - List displays a list of promotions in that promotion folder.
