Creating catalog filter data in CSV format

In a spreadsheet editor, you can create the catalog filter data that you want to upload in CSV format. The easiest way to create this data is to download a sample CSV file to use as a starting point.

Before you begin

Ensure that you are familiar with the following topics: File format for uploading catalog filter data and Catalog filter object input file definitions.

Procedure

  1. Open a spreadsheet editor.
  2. In the first cell of the first row, specify which catalog filter business object type to upload.
Choose one of the following keywords. Type the keyword exactly as shown:
    • CatalogFilter
    • CatalogFilterCategory
    • CatalogFilterCatentry
    • CatalogFilterCondition
    • CatalogFilterConditionGroup
  3. In the second row, specify the column headers that correspond to the catalog filter business object type.
  4. Starting from the third row, define your catalog filter by specifying values in the mandatory and optional columns.
  5. Save the worksheet as a CSV file.
  6. Optional: Create catalog filter data for different catalog filter business objects. Repeat steps 1 - 5.
  7. Optional: Compress one or more CSV files into a compressed file by using a compression utility. Password-encrypted compressed files are not supported.
If you choose to compress your CSV files, be aware of the following:
    • All CSV files must use the same file encoding. For more information about the supported file encoding formats, see Uploading catalog filter data.
    • If you specified different catalog filter object types in the compressed file, the catalog filter object types are uploaded in the following order: Catalog filter, Catalog filter catalog entry, Catalog filter category, Catalog filter condition groups, Catalog filter conditions.
Note: By default, the maximum file size for uploads is 10 MB.

Results

The CSV files are created in a suitable format for the Catalog Filter Upload feature.
