IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce
The IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce, or Management Center, is a suite of tools to support store management, merchandising, and marketing tasks for business users (Sellers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Catalog Managers, and others).
Catalog Filter and Pricing tool
Use the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool in Management Center to create and manage catalog filters, price lists, and price rules. Sellers, Sales Managers, and Account Representatives can use the tool's flexible features to implement catalog filtering and pricing strategies that meet the site's business needs over time.
Managing catalog filters
Catalog filters can be managed by Sales Managers, Account Representatives, and Seller Administrators.
Using catalog filters
By creating catalog filters and assigning them to contracts, you can entitle subsets of your catalog to your customers. You can also use catalog filters in price rules to set pricing for different subsets of your catalog.
Assigning a catalog filter to a contract
To entitle different customers to a subset of your catalog on the storefront, you must assign a catalog filter to a contract using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator. This requirement applies to all business models (B2B direct stores, B2C stores, and extended site stores); however the assignment steps differ depending on the business model and the type of contract.

        By using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, you can assign a catalog filter to the following types of contracts in the B2B direct store and B2B direct extended sites business models: a customer contract, a base contract, and the base for default contract for the storefront asset store.

        By using WebSphere Commerce Accelerator, you can assign a catalog filter to the default contract for a B2C store. As a result, customers who are shopping on the store are entitled to the set of catalog entries that are defined in the assigned catalog filter.
        Catalog filter uploads
        You can upload catalog filter data using the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool. For example, if your company maintains catalog filter data in a spreadsheet, you can upload the data from the spreadsheet to the WebSphere Commerce database. The Catalog Filter Upload feature uses the Data Load utility, but it provides a user interface that makes the upload process easier.
