WebSphere Commerce installs DB2 Database Version 9.5.0.4 by
default, or you can use an existing version of DB2. If you want to
use a remote database; then preinstall the DB2 client on your system
before installing WebSphere Commerce.
Procedure
When using DB2 Database,
you have the following options:
- Use a new local installation of DB2 Database Version 9.5.0.4 as
installed for you by the WebSphere Commerce Installation
wizard.
No additional steps are required if you choose
this option. DB2 Database Version 9.5.0.4 will
be installed locally if the WebSphere Commerce installation
wizard does not detect an existing DB2 Database local
installation.
- Use an existing installation of DB2 Database with WebSphere Commerce.
If you want to use a remote database, you must choose this option.
Complete the steps in following topic to ensure that your
installation of
DB2 Database is
ready to use with
WebSphere Commerce:
Note: If you want to install WebSphere Commerce 64-bit, you
must use an existing 64-bit DB2. If you do not already have 64-bit
DB2 installed, you must install both 64-bit WebSphere Application
Server and 64-bit DB2 before you install WebSphere Commerce Version
