Problems opening programs on Windows operating systems with UAC enabled
You might encounter permission problems when you open programs as a non-administrator on Windows 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, with UAC enabled.
Problem:
If you are experiencing authorization errors when you start your WebSphere Commerce Development environment or when you start the WebSphere Commerce Test server, you might be running into conflicts with the new Windows UAC.
Solution:
To avoid these problems:
- Verify that you have all required and recommended fixes installed.
- Ensure that you are not using virtualized directories (for example, Program Files) as the installation directory for WebSphere Commerce Developer.
- Right-click the program file or shortcut, and select Run as administrator.
- For console based programs, right-click cmd.exe and select Run as administrator. Run the command from the new console.
