The Communication Enabled Applications communication service settings will not save
changes when configuring the WebSphere Application Server.
Problem
When configuring the WebSphere Application Server during installation
of the WebSphere Application Server Communications Enabled Applications (CEA) for setting up
coshopping, changes to the communications service do not save. In the configuration panel of
Communications Enabled Applications, if the context root is blank and changes continue to not save,
the user/group for CEA may be incorrect.
Solution
When installing CEA if the user/group used is not
the same that was used when installing the WebSphere Application Server this issue will occur. Check
the WAS_installdir and ensure all folders and files belong to same user:
wasuser and group wasgrp. If the user and group are
not the same, make the appropriate changes and return to configuring the WebSphere Application
Server for CEA communications service.
