Troubleshoot Repository Sites
If you experience issues while configuring or syncing your repository sites, review the following common problems and their recommended troubleshooting steps:
- SSH fetch fails: Check network access from the BigFix Server, repository
read permissions for the Git account, the BES Server service account's access to
id_rsa, and the verified host entry in
known_hosts. Look for
Failed to sync repository sitein the BigFix Server log. - A commit does not produce an update: Check the tracked branch in site details and confirm that its HEAD has advanced. If the scheduled check has not run yet, use Gather to request an immediate check.
- The site initially returns 404: Allow the initial clone and publication to finish, then check the BigFix Server log for a successful clone and GatherDB.log for a successful import. Investigate a 404 that persists after these stages.
- Expected content is missing: Check the source directory names and any overrides in siteConfig.xml, the numeric filename prefixes and export warnings, and the site import messages in GatherDB.log.
Repository Sites are excluded from the AirGap Tool standard external-site map. An isolated BigFix Server must be able to reach an appropriate Git repository or mirror.
