Maintaining updates
Maintaining updates involves overseeing the process of consistently applying patches, fixes, and upgrades to ensure systems remain up-to-date and secure.
When updates become available from Microsoft, BigFix Patches for Windows releases Fixlets accordingly. BigFix provides content that triggers the update that is required for both Microsoft CDN and network share.
- For updating the network share with the latest binaries: Fixlet ID 304200264: Office 365 Version 16.0.20026.20182 Available for Network Share for Office 365 - Current Channel - Office 365
- For triggering the client update from the network share or the Microsoft CDN: Fixlet ID 304200290: Office 365 Version 16.0.20026.20182 Available - Current Channel - Office 365 (English (United States))
- For triggering the client update through the Local Client Cache (LCC): Fixlet ID 304200272: Office 365 Version 16.0.20026.20182 Available - Current Channel - Office 365 (Update from Local Client Cache)
Fixlet IDs and version numbers are reissued with every Office 365 release, so always use the Fixlet ID for the version and channel that is current in your deployment rather than the specific IDs shown here.
You can also use Fixlets to remove the update path settings, delete the network share, or disable automatic updates.
