Client settings for Non-Windows Patch

Use these client settings to customize BigFix Patch behavior on Linux, AIX, VIOS, and related endpoints. Each setting lists its default value, type, value range, whether a component restart is required, the task used to configure it, and the operating systems it applies to.

Note: Unless otherwise noted, these are custom client settings that you configure by using the listed task in the Patching Support site.

Settings applicable to all BigFix supported Linux operating systems

_BESClient_LinuxPatch_enable_debug_log

Enables or disables DEBUG mode for deployment logs (EDR_DeploymentResults.txt), which are generated on the BigFix client (/var/opt/BESClient/EDRDeployData) during patching. When enabled, the setting also generates or deletes EDR deployment files such as EDR_Yumconfig, EDR_RepomdRequest, EDR_RepomdMapping, EDR_RepoRefresh, EDR_MetadataRequest, and EDR_MetadataMapping on the client after patching.

Mac OS

Mac OS patching does not require OS-specific patch repository settings. By default it uses the BigFix Agent's global download pipeline (macOS 10.14 and later).
