Remote Access

This procedure outlines the steps required to start a Remote Access session using Modern Client Management.

Before you begin

Ensure the following:
  • Remote Access feature is enabled via Feature configuration and BigFix UEM Agent is installed.
  • All prerequisites are met, and the TURN server setup is complete. Refer to the TURN server configuration documentation for details.
  • Your web browser is configured to allow pop-ups for the Modern Client Management domain. If pop-ups are blocked, the remote session window will not launch.
  • Device is enrolled in BigFix MCM.
  • Device is visible in Web UI

About this task

Remote Access allows administrators to view the screens of managed devices in real-time to provide support.

Procedure

  1. You can access the Remote Access page using the following methods.
    • From the Devices page:
      1. Navigate to the Devices and open Device Details.
      2. Click the action menu and select Remote Access.
    • From Remote Access tab:
      1. Navigate to Apps > MCM > Remote View
      2. Select a device.
    The Remote Access page opens for the selected device.
  2. Coordinate with the end user to prepare the target device:
    1. Open the BigFix Agent app on the device.
    2. Navigate to the Remote View section from the home page.
    3. Toggle the Connect for Remote View option to ON.
  3. In the Target Devices section of the WebUI, click Select Device.
  4. Choose the intended device from the list and click Send Request.

    A new browser window will open displaying the remote device's screen once the connection is established.

What to do next

Important: If the Send Request button is inactive, verify that a device has been successfully selected in the Target Devices list.
