Updating the Coturn Service

This section describes how to update an existing Coturn server to the latest version using BigFix Modern Client Management (MCM).

Before you begin

  • The target device must have a minimum Coturn version of 3.5 installed.
  • The device must be online and reporting to the BigFix MCM and Mobile infrastructure.

About this task

Keeping the TURN server updated ensures improved stability, security patches, and compatibility with Remote View capabilities.

Procedure

  1. In the Modern Client Management dashboard, navigate to Admin > Coturn Service > Update.
  2. In the Target Devices section, click Select and choose the appropriate endpoints.
  3. Review the Description area to verify the update version (e.g., 3.6.0).
  4. Click Deploy.

Results

The system upgrades the service to the latest supported version. Existing TLS settings and authentication configurations remain unchanged.

What to do next

Monitor the deployment status from the Deployments tab to ensure the task completes successfully.

Best Practices & Notes
  • Maintenance Windows: Perform updates during low-activity periods to prevent interrupting active Remote View sessions.
  • TLS Configuration: If you have configured TLS, verify that your certificates and keys remain intact and functional after the upgrade is complete.
  • Monitoring: After clicking Deploy, track the progress in the Deployments tab to confirm successful installation across all targeted servers.
