Removing multiple Java 2 plug-ins from a client workstation
If you have more than one Java 2 plug-in installed on a client workstation then you may encounter problems running the Java 2 version of the Z and I Emulator for Web client.
Follow these steps to restore the client workstation to having only one version of the Java 2 plug-in:
- Uninstall all the Java 2 plug-ins.
- Install the Java 2 plug-in that you want to use to run the Z and I Emulator for Web client.
Clearing the Java 2 plug-in's cache
To clear the Java Plug-in's cache:
- Launch the Java Plug-in Control Panel. See Launching the Java 2 Plug-in Control Panel.
- Click the Cache tab at the top
- Click Clear JAR cache
- A message comes up saying that the cache has been cleared.
Determining whether the Java 1 or the Java 2 version of the Z and I Emulator for Web Client is running
To determine whether the Java 1 or the Java 2 version of the Z and I Emulator for Web client is running, follow these steps:
- On the session panel click Help > About Z and I Emulator for Web.
- On the last line of the about panel look at the version string.
- If the version string ends with Java 2 then the Java 2 version of the Z and I Emulator for Web client is running. For
example,
8.0.0-B20030326 Java 2
- Otherwise the Java 1 version of the Z and I Emulator for Web client is running. For example,
8.0.0-B20030326
- If the version string ends with Java 2 then the Java 2 version of the Z and I Emulator for Web client is running. For
