Sending S/MIME Signed messages on an iOS device
In order to send S/MIME signed messages, an S/MIME signing credential must be added in settings and the Default Encryption Type must be set to S/MIME.
Once the Default Encryption Type is set to S/MIME, choosing the Sign (S/MIME) option during message composition will sign the outgoing message.
How do I send an S/MIME signed message?
- Click on the New message icon on HCL Verse iOS.
- On the Mail Compose screen, enter the recipients information, subject and body of the email the same way you would compose a standard mail message.
- Click on the Mail Options icon to launch the Mail Options dialog.
- Toggle the Sign (S/SMIME) switch to sign the message.
- Click "Done" to go back to the Mail Compose screen.
- Click "Send" to send the email as S/MIME signed.
Note: If the S/MIME signing credential is expired, a prompt will be
displayed to you. Click “Send Anyway” to continue sending the signed message with the
expired S/MIME credential. Otherwise, click "Cancel" to replace your expired S/MIME
credential and sign again.
