License server activation
By using the My HCLSoftware (MHS) portal, you manage the activation of license servers within a deployment.
Activating the Local License Server
You can activate the HCL Local License Server (LLS) in the My HCLSoftware (MHS) portal to download the license file which is further utilized in your LLS installation.

You can download the license file of an HCL Local License Server (LLS) deployment at any point in time.

My HCLSoftware - an overview
The My HCLSoftware (MHS) portal is the online interface used to manage license of your HCLSoftware products. Through MHS, you can seamlessly manage downloads, subscriptions, and deployments, making it simpler to access and manage the licensing of your HCLSoftware products.

- Activating the Local License Server
  You can activate the HCL Local License Server (LLS) in the My HCLSoftware (MHS) portal to download the license file which is further utilized in your LLS installation.
  - Downloading license file
    You can download the license file of an HCL Local License Server (LLS) deployment at any point in time.
  - Updating license server fingerprint
    When you regenerate a fingerprint, the same fingerprint must be updated in the My HCLSoftware (MHS) portal. When you update the fingerprint, a new license file is downloaded that you must use for your license server.
- Activating the Cloud License Server
  You can activate the HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) to generate a URL that is applied to license your HCLSoftware product.

Downloading license file

You can download the license file of an HCL Local License Server (LLS) deployment at any point in time.

Before you begin

You must have completed the following tasks:

Created a deployment. See Creating deployments.
Allocated minimum required features to the deployment. See Assigning licenses.
Generated fingerprint and ensure that it is ready to use. See Generating fingerprint.

Procedure

Click the Deployments tab.
Identify the LLS deployment for which you want to download the license file.
Click Download License File from the deployment menu.
Enter the fingerprint and click Submit.

Results

The license file is downloaded to your local system.

What to do next

You must add the downloaded license file to the license folder in your LLS installation. The license folder is located at the <lls_install_directory>/license path. See Installing HCL Local License Server.
