Registering an authenticator app for OTP-based sign-in
You must register a time-based one-time passcode (TOTP) authenticator for the Salesforce automation user, so that Test Hub can generate matching one-time passcodes during sign-in.
Before you begin
You must have completed the following tasks:
- Configured Test Hub. See Configuration of Test Hub for Salesforce test automation.
- Ensured that you have access to the Salesforce automation user's account and permission to change personal security settings.
- Ensured that you obtained the automation user and its permission set.
About this task
You can register an authenticator app for the Salesforce automation user. During registration, Salesforce displays a QR code and a corresponding secret key. The TOTP secret is used by Test Hub to generate matching verification codes at run time.
Procedure
- Log in to the Salesforce application with your credentials.

In Salesforce, click your user avatar in the top-right corner and select
Settings.
The Settings page is displayed.

In the left navigation pane, click Advanced User Details.
The Advanced User Details page is displayed.

Locate App Registration: One-Time Password Authenticator and
click Connect.
The Connect an Authenticator App page is displayed with a QR code and a secret key.
- Open your authenticator app, such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator, and scan the QR code.

Obtain the
otpauth://secret URI from the displayed QR code to configure OTP generation in Test Hub. - In your authenticator app, note the 6-digit verification code that is generated
- Enter the 6-digit verification code in the Verification Code field.
- Click Connect.
Results
You have registered a TOTP authenticator for the Salesforce automation user.
