Application management
When you want to create and manage Web UI tests in HCL DevOps Test Hub (Test Hub), you must first create an application within the project.
By creating an application in the project, you can streamline test management by ensuring that the tests are run on the correct application. The application organizes the process by linking each test asset to a specific application. Thereby improving the efficiency of test run.
Components of an application
The components are the key elements in the application that you might want to test. These components include the following details:
- URL: The web address where the application is hosted.
- Description: A brief explanation or details about the application.
- Image: A graphic representation or a logo of the application.
- Details: The application URL, description, and dependencies are displayed in this tab. You can modify these details as required.
- Smartshots: The smartshots captured for the application
are displayed in this tab. Smartshots are organized into two collapsible
sections:
- Used Smartshots: Displays smartshots that are referenced by one or more tests. The label displays the test that references the smartshot.
- Unused: Displays smartshots that are not referenced by any test. Use the Select all checkbox to select all unused smartshots for bulk deletion. You can also hold the Ctrl key and select multiple smartshots to delete them in bulk.
- APIs: The APIs associated with the application are displayed in this tab.
Managing applications primarily consists of two key activities:
