Creating a project for a ClearCase® VOB

To use parameterized build for Rational® Developer for System z® or Eclipse, you need to create a project that points to a ClearCase® VOB that has been enabled for parameterized build.

Before you begin

You need to ask your ClearCase® administrator for the name of any VOBs (test or production) that have been enabled for parameterized build. If your ClearCase® administrator set up the parameterized build sample programs in a test environment, you need the name of the VOB where these sample programs are stored.

Procedure

To create a project for parameterized build, do these steps:
  1. From the menu bar, click File > New > Project.
    The New Project wizard opens.
  2. Choose the type of project you want to create and complete the New Project wizard accordingly.
    You can use any type of project, but it must point to a ClearCase® VOB that has been enabled for parameterized build.
  3. Click OK.
