Adding files to ClearCase

You can either create a new file or you can add a new file to ClearCase®.

About this task

Restriction: If the platform is UNIX® and if the ClearCase view is UCM and dynamic, you cannot add a new file to ClearCase control through CCRAM.

Creating a new file

Procedure

To create a new file in the host PDS, do these steps:
  1. Select a view and then select NEW > New Member.
    The CARMA Member window opens.
  2. Type the fully qualified file name in the Member Name text box and map it to the PDS.
  3. Click OK.
    The new file name displays under the view you selected.
  4. Select one or more files and then select Custom > ADDTOCC.
    A window opens in which you can enter the activity name in the UCM Activity Name field.
  5. Click OK.
    The selected files are added to source control.
  6. Right-click the Activity icon under the view and select Refresh to refresh the view.

Adding a file to source control

Procedure

If the new file has already been added to the ClearCase directory, do these steps:
  1. Select one or more file names and then select Custom->ADDTOCC.
    The ADDTOCC window opens.
  2. Enter the activity name in the UCM Activity Name field and click OK.
    The selected files are added to ClearCase for source control. There is no need to create a PDS member for this file.
  3. Right-click the Activity icon under the view and select Refresh to refresh the view.
