Administering DevOps Code ClearCase®

License servers and license administration
Most DevOps Code ClearCase® applications and commands (cleartool commands, for example, or GUIs such as the ClearTeam Explorer) require a license to run. DevOps Code ClearCase can use IBM Common Licensing, which is based on the FLEXlm license management tool from GLOBEtrotter Software, Inc., or ClearCase Licensing, a proprietary licensing scheme.
ClearCase Licensing
ClearCase Licensing uses an active-user floating license scheme. A user must obtain a license, which grants the privilege to use DevOps Code ClearCase® on any host served by the same license server.
License priorities
You can specify the priority at which available licenses are granted to specific users.

You can specify the priority at which available licenses are granted to specific users.

You can assign to each user a license priority in the license database file. Each user specified in a –user line has a priority number: the first user has priority 1 (highest priority), the second user has priority 2, and so on. All users who are not specified in any –user line share the lowest priority.
