Administering DevOps Code ClearCase®

License servers and license administration
Most DevOps Code ClearCase® applications and commands (cleartool commands, for example, or GUIs such as the ClearTeam Explorer) require a license to run. DevOps Code ClearCase can use IBM Common Licensing, which is based on the FLEXlm license management tool from GLOBEtrotter Software, Inc., or ClearCase Licensing, a proprietary licensing scheme.

IBM Common Licensing

IBM Common Licensing is based on the FLEXlm license management tool. For information about the version level for the IBM Common Licensing tools (such as the License Key Server) required for DevOps Code ClearCase® version 10.0, use the Software product compatibility reports tool.

Note: IBM Common Licensing is not available to customers using ClearCase when it is provided by HCL. You can use IBM Common Licensing if ClearCase is provided by IBM.
