Specifying parameters for a distribution chart

Distribution charts show the current status of change requests.

About this task

To specify the parameters for a distribution chart:

Procedure

  1. Click Query > New Chart.
    The opens.
  2. In the Choose Record Type window, select a record type and click OK.
  3. On the first page of the HCL Compass Chart wizard, select the Distribution Chart option and click Next.
  4. On the Parameters page, specify the fields to display along each axis of the chart. In the Vertical Axis (Y) section, define the vertical axis of the chart:
    1. Select a field to use for the y-axis from the Field list.
      On the y-axis, you can only use a field with numeric values.
      Tip: To display all the record fields in the Field list instead of only the fields in your Favorites folder, select the Show All Fields check box.
    2. From the Function list, select a function to apply to the field that you selected in the Field list.
  5. In the Horizontal Axis (X) section of the Parameters page, define the horizontal axis of the chart:
    1. Select a field to use for the x-axis from the Field list.
    2. From the Sort list, select a sort order for the x-axis.
      To leave the x-axis unsorted, leave this field blank.
  6. Optional: In the Legends section, select one or two fields to include in the chart legend to further define the chart:
    1. In theField lists, select a field.
    2. To sort the legend on this field, select a sort order from the associated Sort list.
      To leave the legend unsorted, leave this field blank.
