Specifying parameters for an aging chart

Aging charts show historical information about change requests.

About this task

To specify the parameters for an aging chart:

Procedure

  1. Click Query > New Chart.
  2. In the Choose Record Type window, select a record type and click OK.
  3. On the first page of the HCL Compass Chart wizard, select the Aging Chart option and click Next.
  4. On the Parameters page specify the fields to display along each axis of the chart. In the Horizontal Axis section, define the time interval that you want to measure:
    1. In the Interval Size and Interval Type lists, select the interval size and the associated interval type, respectively.
      For example, to define a two-week interval, select an interval size of 2 and an interval type of Week.
    2. In the Number of intervals list, select the number of intervals to chart.
    3. In the End Date field, enter the end date for the chart period. Alternatively, click the button next to this field to open a calender window from which you can select an end date.
  5. In the Legends section, define the legend fields:
    1. In an aging chart, Field 1 is always defined as the State field. Click Select States to open the Select Values window and select one or more values to include in the legend. Then click OK.
    2. Optional: To include a second field in the legend, select a field from the Field 2 list.
      Tip: To display all the record fields in the Field 2 list instead of only the fields in your Favorites folder, select the Show All Fields check box.
    3. Optional: To sort the legend on Field 2, select a sort order from the Sort list.
  6. Optional: To show cumulative counts per time interval, select the Show cumulative counts check box.
