              If you do not have any previous feature pack installed on the development environment, you can install the required fix pack and feature pack using IBM Installation Manager.

              If you have any previous feature pack installed in the development environment, you can install the required fix pack and update the feature pack using the Installation Manager.

        WebSphere Application Server announced the end of service for WebSphere Application Server V7 and IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 6. To reduce the risk of security exposures and to ensure that you can continue to apply future WebSphere Application Server and Java-related fixes, install Version 8.5.5. Version 8.5.5 includes IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8.

Updating feature packs on WebSphere Commerce Developer

If you have any previous feature pack installed in the development environment, you can install the required fix pack and update the feature pack using the Installation Manager.

Before you begin

  • The machine on which you are installing must meet all hardware, software, and network prerequisites.
  • Stop any applications running on your machine.
  • Log on as a user with Administrator privileges.

Procedure

    1. Updating the IBM Installation Manager
      You can update IBM Installation Manager without uninstalling any packages you have already installed.
    2. Applying fixes to Rational Application Developer or Rational Software Architect
      Use the IBM Installation Manager to apply fixes to Rational Application Developer or Rational Software Architect.
    3. Upgrading to a newer WebSphere Application Server version using Installation Manager
      WebSphere Commerce recommends installing the latest version of WebSphere Application Server 7.0, as it becomes available.
