WebSphere Commerce feature packs
WebSphere
Commerce feature packs include new features to improve your WebSphere
Commerce solution. These additions add new functionality to the WebSphere
Commerce product. The feature pack differs from a fix pack in that
it does not contain fixes to the base WebSphere Commerce product.New
feature pack levels include all of the features previously released
with earlier feature packs, along with APAR fixes for the earlier
releases. For example, Feature Pack 5 includes all of the features
released with feature packs 1 - 4, along with APAR fixes for the earlier
releases.
Each WebSphere Commerce feature pack contains multiple features that are installed as one package, and can be enabled individually. A feature provides a functional extension to the existing WebSphere Commerce product.
On IBM i, you can install
Feature Pack 5 or later. Feature Pack 5 provides the functionality
of Feature Pack 5 and all lower-level feature packs. Similarly, later
feature packs also include their own functionality and that of all
lower-level feature packs.
The WebSphere Commerce feature packs include the following features:

Starter store enhancements
Each WebSphere Commerce feature pack contains starter store enhancements to provide additional features to starter stores. These store enhancements are contained within store archive (SAR) files.Each WebSphere Commerce V7.0
feature pack includes all of the features from previous feature packs.
When you install a new feature pack, a new version of the following
SAR files installs on your machine:
- Deprecated featureMadisons-FEP.sar
- Contains the latest Madisons fixes and extension points required for the MadisonsEnhancements.sar file. Publish the Madisons-FEP.sar file after installing the new feature pack. The MadisonsEnhancements.sar file does not work properly with earlier versions of the Madisons starter store. For information about the starter store enhancements contained in the MadisonsEnhancements.sar file, see Starter store enhancements for the Madisons starter store.
- Deprecated featureElite-FEP.sar
- Contains the latest Elite fixes and extension points required for the EliteEnhancements.sar file. Publish the Elite-FEP.sar file after installing the new feature pack. The EliteEnhancements.sar file does not work properly with earlier versions of the Elite starter store. - Aurora.sar
- A sample composite store archive that contains the organization
structure, predefined user roles, and access control policies necessary
to create a consumer direct environment. The storefront includes web
2.0 capabilities using Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) and
Dojo technologies to create a feature-rich working store.

Minimum fix pack levels for feature packs

following are the fix pack requirements for each WebSphere Commerce
Version 7 feature pack:
