You can install a fix pack and feature pack on the WebSphere
Commerce toolkit by using a silent response file.
About this task
During feature enablement,
you might intermittently receive a FileNotFoundException message.
These messages can be ignored. For more information, see JR40912.
Procedure
- Uninstall any interim
fixes that you currently have installed that are not part of the feature
pack you will be updating.
See
APARs fixed in WebSphere Commerce feature packs for a list of
APARs fixed in each feature pack. Feature packs are cumulative, so
the latest feature pack includes the fixes for APARs fixed in all lower-level
feature packs.
Note: Record all interim fixes that you uninstall. After
you install the feature pack, you must contact support to obtain a
new version of any APAR that was not included in it.
- Optional: In a text editor, open the response
file you created in Creating a response file.
- Optional: Modify
the entries in the response file to match the installation options
you want.
- On the command line, run the following
command to start the silent installation process:
- For Installation Manager 1.4.3 or higher:
- Go to the eclipse/tools subdirectory of Installation
Manager
- Run
IMCL.exe -input response_file_path.txt -log
log_file_path -acceptLicense
- Add the
-sP
parameter to
obtain more installation progress information
- For Installation Manager 1.4.2 or lower:
- Go to the eclipse subdirectory of Installation
Manager
- Run
IBMIMc.exe -–launcher.ini silent-install.ini -input
response_file_path.txt -log log_file_path
where
- response_file_path is
the full path of the response file
- log_file_path is the full
path of log file, for example c:\logs\fep_install.log.
The full path must exist.
- Optional: Review the Installation
Manager log files for any important information or errors.
The
timestamped logs can be found in the following default locations:
- drive:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\logs
- drive:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation
Manager\logs
Alternatively, you can view the logs in the Installation Manager
interface under
- Reinstall the interim fixes that you uninstalled
in Step
1, making sure that you obtain the appropriate version for
the newly-installed feature pack.
- Enable the features that you want.
To enable features, see Enabling features.
