Targets
Use the existing Current Page target to now target
customers who are viewing catalog entries that have specific properties or attributes. For example,
you can now target customers who are viewing the product details page for any product that is made
by a specific manufacturer.
Use the Search Criteria and Result target in web
activities and search rules to target customers whose search results include specific catalog
entries, or searched with specific search filters on their search results.
Use the Promotion Checker target to check a catalog
entry that a customer is viewing to determine whether the catalog entry qualifies for a promotion
you specify. If so, you can display an ad for the promotion.
Actions
Display marketing content as a title for an e-Marketing Spot in your
storefront. This title can be used to identify the advertising, recommendation, or promotion in an
e-Marketing Spot to customers.
Return e-Marketing Spot properties information to an e-Marketing Spot to
change storefront or e-Marketing Spot behavior. By returning information to an e-Marketing Spot,
such as a style sheet or JSP, you can change what displays on your storefront, or how this content
displays.
Display catalog entry recommendations. This action is enhanced to provide
the capability to recommend catalog entries that are based on the navigation and search behavior of
a customer that is browsing your store. You can also add the new merchandising attributes to catalog
entries, and filter recommendations by these attributes.
Four new search actions deliver enhanced capabilities with search rules.
These enhanced capabilities, include the ability to: - Add the customer to or remove the customer from an existing customer segment.
- Change the position of certain results within the search results list.
- Force specific catalog entries to display at the top of the search results list.
- Replace search keywords that are submitted by the customer with alternative search keywords.
Display a list of the top-browsed catalog entries for a category you
specify.
Display a list of the best selling catalog entries for a category you
specify.
Calculate and show customers the discounted price of a catalog entry they
are currently viewing, based on one or more promotions you specify.- Display marketing content that is related to a promotion in an e-Marketing Spot to recommend a promotion, typically as advertisement for the promotion. This action associates the promotion to the content's click action so that you do not have to manually code the click action URL.
- Display a list of the catalog entries or categories that the customer recently viewed. This provides customers with a list of links they can click to revisit items of interest. You can choose how many catalog entries or categories to include in the list.
- Perhaps your site uses a tool that is external to WebSphere Commerce to determine relevant product recommendations for customers. If so, Management Center now provides a customizable action element that is called Display Recommendation From External System. When the customization is in place, you can add this action to web activities to display the recommendations from the external recommendation system in an e-Marketing Spot just as you would use the other actions, such as Recommend Catalog Entry.
