Power Management User's Guide
Power Management is policy-driven software for distributed environments. Built on IBM® BigFix technology, it allows you to apply conservation policies infrastructure-wide, while providing the granularity to apply power management policies to a single computer.
Use Power Management
Power Management offers tools like Fixlets and wizards to regulate computer power states and reduce energy wastage from idle computers. Users can control sleep, hibernation, and standby modes through the Reduce Power Consumption node in the navigation tree.
Manage power profiles
Manage power profiles by utilizing the Create Power Profile Fixlets wizard to set computers to low-power mode during idle times. The wizard allows for creating single or multiple power profiles, with options to customize settings and initiate deployment for efficient power management.
Change current power state
Instructions on changing the computer's power state to low power modes like standby or hibernation, either immediately or on a scheduled basis, regardless of power profile or user activity. Includes a task for forcing entry into standby mode.

Change current power state

You can force your computer into a low power mode, such as standby or hibernation. The tasks to do this can be used to immediately force systems into low power mode or schedule low power modes regardless of the power profile or user activity on that particular computer.
