Controlling session activity as the master controller
About this task
After you have started a collaboration session and have
become the master controller you can control the session activity
using the following options on the Collaboration control panel :
- HandOver
- Use this option to pass full control of the session over to a
new master controller.
- Select a participant from the participants list.
- Click HandOver.
Note: This option is not available in collaboration sessions that are started using a broker to make the connection. - Give control
- Use this option to select a participant and pass control of the
session over to them. You are still the master controller of the session.
- Select a participant from the participants list.
- Click Give control.
Note: You no longer have control of the session and some of the actions in your controller window are now inactive. - Revoke control
- Use this option to retake control of the session at any time by
completing the following steps :
- Select the participant from the list.
- Click Revoke control.
- Disconnect
- Use this option to disconnect one or more participants from the
session at any time by completing the following steps :
- Select the required one or more participants.
- Click Disconnect.
- Disconnect all
- Use this option to disconnect all participants from the session at any time. All participants receive a message that the session has been cancelled.
- Participants limit
- Use this option to set the maximum number of participants that
are allowed to join the session. The number is in the range of 1 to
10 and set to 3 as default whenever a collaboration session is established.
You can change this value at any time during a session. When a controller
tries to join a session, if the limit has already been reached they
receive the following message when they click Join.

.Note: For a collaboration session started using a broker to make the connection, the maximum number of allowed participants is 20 and the default value is 10.
