- Introduction
  BigFix UI is a unified interface that consolidates multiple BigFix capabilities into one modern application. It provides IT operations and security teams with a centralized workspace to manage endpoints, remediate vulnerabilities, and generate reports.
- Getting Started
  The Getting Started section introduces key features that help users begin working with the BigFix UI. It provides a foundation for understanding how to access the system securely, navigate common features, and apply guided recommendations to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Using BigFix UI
  This guide is for regular users of the BigFix UI.
  - Home
    The customizable dashboard is the home page of the BigFix UI. It shows the applications and reports that you use most as a grid of widgets that you can add, remove, and reorder to match your workflow.
  - Explore
    The Explore section provides a centralized view of core BigFix resources. It helps administrators and operators quickly access devices, fixlets, deployments, sites, and analyses for monitoring and action.
    - Devices
      The Device Explorer lets you view, monitor, and act on all the devices connected to your BigFix environment. Use the Overview page for a high-level, chart-based summary, and the List view page to work with device inventory in a customizable table.
    - Fixlets
      Fixlet Explorer enables users to view and manage Fixlets, which are sets of instructions for the BigFix agent to execute on devices. Users can filter and deploy Fixlets, access detailed information on CVEs, and navigate through a data table displaying relevant Fixlet details.
    - Deployments
      Monitor and manage deployments across your environment from the Deployment Manager page - view deployment status, filter and search the list, and stop or delete existing deployments.
    - Software
      BigFix Software Distribution (SWD) on the BigFix UI (BFUI) is a centralized, enterprise-grade solution for deploying and managing software across all endpoints in your network — providing full control, audit visibility, and end-user self-service through a modernized web interface.
    - Sites
      The Sites page is the central workspace for viewing and managing the BigFix sites in your deployment. Use it to review every public and custom site, check how many devices are subscribed to each site, and create custom sites to host your own content.
    - Surveys
      The Surveys page lets you create and track surveys that collect feedback from endpoint users about their digital experience. Use it to review every survey, check its status and score, and deploy a survey to devices.
    - Analyses
      The Analyses app lets you collect and review device data in BigFix. Use it to create analyses, define the devices they apply to, and manage the properties that each analysis reports.
  - Resolve
    The Resolve section provides tools to act on issues and apply remediations across your environment.
  - Reporting
    The Reporting section provides tools to create, view, and manage reports for analysis and decision-making.
  - Administration
    The Administration section helps you manage users and access control in BigFix UI.

BigFix Software Distribution on the BigFix UI

BigFix Software Distribution (SWD) on the BigFix UI (BFUI) is a centralized, enterprise-grade solution for deploying and managing software across all endpoints in your network — providing full control, audit visibility, and end-user self-service through a modernized web interface.

Note: The Software page will be visible only if the Software Distribution site is licensed and enabled.

Overview

Software Distribution lets you create software packages that can be deployed to managed endpoints. It is available from the Explorer > Software menu in BigFix UI. You can also view and deploy pre-built Fixlets created for some common softwares. Moreover you can create configuration tasks for BigFix Self Service Application.

Entitlement

Required:

Software Distribution entitlement on the BigFix license.
Optional Software Installer Library for Windows and/or Software Installer Library for macOS entitlements to access pre-built Fixlets.

Check: Settings > Licensing shows the entitlement as active.

User permissions

Required role: Software Package application access.; Administrator to access also to the Configure Self Service Application page.
Required scope: Access to a custom site.; Optional access to the Software Installer Library for Windows and/or Software Installer Library for macOS sites to access pre-built Fixlets.

Prerequisites

BigFix UI installed and connected to the BigFix Server.
