        Password protected sharing must be disabled as a prerequisite for remotely installing the Remote Control target on a Windows® Vista system.

    Use properties to determine what type of information and how much is written to the broker, gateway, and target component log files.

Disabling password protected sharing

Password protected sharing must be disabled as a prerequisite for remotely installing the Remote Control target on a Windows® Vista system.

About this task

To disable password protected sharing on Windows® Vista systems, complete the following steps:

Procedure

Click Control Panel > Networking and Internet > Sharing and Discovery.
Click the down arrow that is next to Password protected sharing.
Click Turn off password protected sharing.
Click Apply and exit the Control Panel.
