The HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence Virtuoso
The HCL VersionVault-Cadence integration supports a number of commands (data management operations, such as check-in and check-out) and features (such as the Configuration Specification editor and the Work Area Manager).
The VersionVault integration with Cadence cellview editors
The HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence schematic, layout, and other such design editors is referred to as cellview editors (CVEs). Version information, which is displayed on the cellview editor's title bar, includes the current design management (DM) state and the version of the design artifacts that are loaded in the work area.

Setting Cellview editor preferences

In the HCL VersionVault integration with Cadence Virtuoso, designers can set preferences for the Cellview editor window in a single dialog box.After the preferences are set, they are stored in a global preference store and are loaded as required.

Procedure

You can open the preferences dialog box from Cadence Virtuoso or the Cellview editor window.

To open and set preferences from Cadence Virtuoso:
1. Open the Cadence Virtuoso Command Interpreter window.
2. Open the Options menu and select VersionVault Preferences.
3. Select or clear the settings as required.
  The Preference store dialog box includes options to control the display of VersionVault-specific information in title and banner of the Cadence Cellview editor window. The first time you open the preferences dialog box, DM State is selected by default. Therefore, the Cellview editor window always displays the DM state information in its title area. All user modifications are preserved when you click OK to confirm and close the VersionVault Preferences dialog box.
To set preferences from the Cellview editor window:
1. In the cellview editor window, open the VersionVault menu.
2. Select Display Fields and select or clear the settings as required.
  If multiple Cellview editor windows are open, refresh them to update the windows to reflect preference changes.
