To see annotated lines of a text file
About this task
You can see annotated lines of a text file that indicate when, and in which version, each line was added:
Procedure
- In the Version Tree Browser window, select the object.
Important: The element type must support the annotate operation.
- Click and select one of the
following:
Option Description Selected version Indicates when each line of the selected version was inserted. Include removed lines Includes deletion annotations. Include all versions Indicates the date and time of day that each line of the selected version was inserted or deleted and includes lines on branches that are unrelated to the currently selected version. Ancestor report Lists all the event records of all the versions in the line of descent of the selected version.
Results
The software writes its output to a file with the .ann extension and gives you the option to view the report after it is generated.
