To start the Update Tool from CLI
You can start the Update Tool from the command line interface (CLI).
Procedure
- Do
one of the following actions at a command prompt:
- Change directory to the snapshot view root directory and use the following
command:
cleartool update -graphical .
The Start Update window opens. The current view context is selected by default.
- Use the following command:
clearviewupdate
The Start Update window opens. Then click Browse and select a view.
- Change directory to the snapshot view root directory and use the following
command:
- To have the Update Tool report the actions that it would take rather than perform the actual update, set Preview only; do not actually update the view.
- Optionally, click Advanced and change the options that are used for hijacked files and timestamps.
- Then click OK.
Results
The files and directories at the root directory and below are updated or the update is previewed. For more information, click Help.
