To remove a view
About this task
Attention: Removing a view permanently deletes all of its contents,
including view-private files and derived objects. Be sure that you understand
what precautions you should take before removing a view to ensure that information
is not lost.
You can remove a view using the command line or HCL VersionVault Windows Explorer.
Although the command to remove a snapshot view and a dynamic view are similar, the arguments are different. To remove a view using the command line, perform the following actions:
- For a dynamic view, use the command cleartool rmview -tag view-tag to remove the view.
- For a snapshot view, use the command cleartool rmview snapshot-view-path to remove the view.
You can also remove a view using VersionVault Windows
Explorer. If VersionVault Windows
Explorer has a shortcut for the view to be removed,
perform the following procedure:
- In VersionVault Windows Explorer, click Views, then right-click the shortcut for the view and click Remove View.
- In the VersionVault Windows Explorer window, click Yes to continue.
If VersionVault Windows Explorer does not have a shortcut for the view, perform the following procedure:

- Perform one of the following actions:
- Click HCL VersionVault Windows Explorer.
- In VersionVault Windows Explorer, click Toolbox, then click .
- In the Remove View window, select the view and click OK.
