About types of views
Two kinds of views are offered:
- Snapshot views, which copy files from data repositories called VOBs (versioned object bases) onto your computer. You must update snapshot views to make sure they contain the versions specified by the stream (in UCM) or config spec (in base VersionVault).
- Dynamic views, which use an HCL VersionVault file system, the MVFS (multiversion file system), to provide immediate, transparent access to the data in VOBs. Such a view updates itself with new versions created in other views.
