You can open a version not currently in your view using the following methods:

From the Version Tree Browser or (on Windows® systems only) from the History Browser. (On a UNIX® system or Linux®, the Version Tree Browser option is only applicable to files viewable in a text editor.)
From a command line, using a version-extended path
