Configuring HCL VersionVault Explorer preferences
With the HCL VersionVault Explorer preferences page you can specify appearance and behavior preferences for the HCL VersionVault Explorer.
Procedure
To configure HCL VersionVault Explorer
preferences:
- From the main menu bar, click Preferences dialog
box.

Specify the style of VersionVault
decorations that you prefer.
These decorations provide a visual indication of the VersionVault state of a resource. You can select icon decorations, text decorations, or both. For more information about these decorations and what they mean, see VersionVault label decorations and resource states.Note: In the Eclipse environment, VersionVault decorations can be disabled. For more information, see Enabling resource decorations.
- If you are using Web view, the VersionVault WAN server to which you connect must use a character set encoding that is compatible with the character set encoding for which your client host is configured. If a client and server use incompatible character set encodings, many VersionVault operations will fail. When you run the HCL VersionVault Explorer on a computer that is configured to use a language other than US English, the Log in dialog box warns you about this each time you connect to the VersionVault WAN server. To suppress this warning, select Set default to not display incompatible encodings warning on non-English clients.
- Save your preferences.
- To restore the HCL VersionVault Explorer preferences to their default settings, click Restore Defaults
- Click Apply to set the specified preferences and leave the dialog box open.
- Click OK to set the specified preferences and close the dialog box.
- To nullify any changes to the HCL VersionVault Explorer preferences you have made during the current session and close the dialog box, click Cancel.
