Customizing a client host environment for HCL VersionVault
If you are installing for the first time on your client host, you might want to customize your environment to make it easier to use HCL VersionVault.
Access to HCL VersionVault programs and online documentation (reference pages) depends on specific environment variable settings. The most reliable way to establish these settings is to edit your shell startup script.
Shell program | Startup script in home directory |
---|---|
C shell | .cshrc |
Bourne shell | .profile |
Korn shell | .profile |
Note: C shell users must avoid placing HCL
VersionVault settings
in the .login file, which is run only by login
shells.
Startup scripts are not available for Windows™ operating systems.
