Managing HCL Local License Server
After you receive your license entitlements, you must verify the system requirements, perform preinstallation tasks, and then install the HCL Local License Server (LLS) product.
Preinstallation tasks
Before you install HCL Local License Server (LLS), you must perform some necessary tasks.
Downloading the installer package
You must download the LLS installer package into your host machine to manage your licenses.

Managing HCL Local License Server
After you receive your license entitlements, you must verify the system requirements, perform preinstallation tasks, and then install the HCL Local License Server (LLS) product.
- System requirements
  You must check whether your system meets the hardware, software, and operating system requirements to install the HCL Local License Server (LLS) product.
- Preinstallation tasks
  Before you install HCL Local License Server (LLS), you must perform some necessary tasks.
  - Downloading the installer package
    You must download the LLS installer package into your host machine to manage your licenses.
  - Generating fingerprint
    You must generate fingerprint using the utility program which is further required to generate your license file.
  - Generating a self-signed TLS certificate
    Third-party CA certificates are required to install HCL Local License Server (LLS) on your host machine. However, you can also use the LLS installer to generate a self-signed certificate.
  - Generating the license file
    You must create deployments to manage your entitlements. Each deployment generates a license file that must be copied to the license folder after the LLS is installed.
- Installing HCL Local License Server
  After you finish all the pre-installation tasks, you can begin the installation of HCL Local License Server (LLS). You can then manage the licenses of HCLSoftware products.
- Verifying HCL Local License Server installation
  After you have installed HCL Local License Server (LLS), you must verify the installation to ensure that the LLS is reachable.
- Configuring HCL Local License Server
  You can configure HCL Local License Server (LLS) to edit the TLS certificate, and port by using the update program.
- Uninstalling HCL Local License Server
  When you no longer require HCL Local License Server (LLS), you run the uninstall program.

  You can troubleshoot some common issues you encounter with HCL Local License Server (LLS).
Managing HCL Cloud License Server
After you receive your license entitlements, you can set up HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) for your HCLSoftware product license configuration.

Downloading the installer package

You must download the LLS installer package into your host machine to manage your licenses.

Procedure

Log in to My HCLSoftware (MHS).
From the Downloads tab, click the HCLSoftware tile and then the License Server tile.
All of the available LLS releases are displayed.
Select an appropriate release.
The installers are listed for you to download.
- For Windows, download HCL Local License Server 5.1 Windows.zip
- For Linux, download HCL Local License Server 5.1 Linux.tar.gz
Click below the Actions menu to download the installer package.
The package is downloaded to your host machine.
