Managing HCL Cloud License Server

After you receive your license entitlements, you can set up HCL Cloud License Server (CLS) for your HCLSoftware product license configuration.

About this task

To set up CLS, you do not need to perform any installation or pre-installation tasks. You can manage your licenses from MHS.

Procedure

  1. Create a deployment and allocate license to it.
    1. Log in to MHS.
    2. Go to the Deployments page.
      The Deployment page is blank at the initial login and displays only the Add Deployment card.
    3. Create a deployment by clicking on the Add Deployment card.
    4. Type a name for the deployment, select a deployment type, and click Add Deployment.
      A list of all license entitlements that you have purchased is displayed.
    5. Enter the number of licenses you want to allocate to the deployment.
      The availability of the licenses changes when you modify license allocation.
    6. Save all changes when done.
      A new card for the deployment is added and available from the Deployment page.
    The Deployment page lists all deployments that you have added in the card form. Each card has an options button that allows you to manage your deployments.
  2. Activate the CLS.
    1. Click the options button of the deployment you created in the previous step.
    2. Select Activate License Server.
      The Activate License Server window is displayed.
    3. Select Cloud as the license server type to set up the CLS.
    4. Click Activate License Server.

Results

You have set up the CLS and the CLS URL is generated.

You can perform the following tasks:
  • Verify whether the CLS is accessible by opening the URL in a browser.
  • Copy the URL to configure license information for your product.
