Logging in to the Windows, Linux, or UNIX system
To use the password authentication parameter, the server component of TSO Client must be started by a user logged on as administrator (on Windows®) or as root (on Linux® and the UNIX® system).
About this task
On Windows, you must remain logged on as administrator as long as the server component of TSO Client is running.
On the Linux and the UNIX systems, you must have root privileges to start the TSO Client server with the password authentication setting. You should not start the server component of TSO Client with root privileges on Linux and the UNIX system unless you intend to use password authentication. To avoid using password authentication, ensure that you are not running as root when you start the server.
