The automounter on Linux or the UNIX system does not use the hosts map
On most hosts running Linux or the UNIX system, the NFS automounter uses the hosts map to establish a network path to a VOB storage directory. When this service is not in use, the network path might not be correct.
About this task
If the automounter on a host running Linux or the UNIX system does not use the hosts map, the heuristics that help mkvob and mkview construct a global path to VOB or view storage might fail. On such hosts, you must use the –host, –hpath, and –gpath options to mkvob and mkview to ensure that the global path, stored in the VOB or view tag, is valid for all hosts in the registry region. For more information, see DevOps Code ClearCase and the NFS automounter.
