    You can configure a DevOps Code ClearCase® host running Linux® or the UNIX system to support access to VOBs and dynamic views from computers that do not run DevOps Code ClearCase.

    If you can estimate the number of elements, versions, and derived objects that a VOB will ultimately contain, you can compute a very rough estimate of the size of a VOB that can accommodate them. Removing a VOB

Removing a VOB destroys all of its data. Do not remove a VOB unless the data that it contains is no longer valuable.

About this task

To remove a VOB, use the following procedure.

Procedure

Verify that the VOB is not in use.
Clients that use dynamic views must unmount the VOB. Users with snapshot views should remove the VOB from their load rules.
Remove the VOB.
You can use the rmvob command or the DevOps Code ClearCase® Administration Console. To use the DevOps Code ClearCase®Administration Console, navigate to the VOB storage node for the VOB (a subnode of the host node for the host where the VOB storage directory resides) and then click Action > All Tasks > Remove VOB.
Stop and restart DevOps Code ClearCase® on the VOB host.
This terminates the VOB's server processes.
