Administering the DevOps Code ClearCase® registry
The DevOps Code ClearCase® registry is a central repository of information about shared resources such as VOBs and views.
The registry server host
The DevOps Code ClearCase® registry is an integral part of most DevOps Code ClearCase operations, so the registry server host must be stable, available, and accessible to all hosts in the network.

Defining a Windows® computer as a registry host

You can define an existing DevOps Code ClearCase® host that is running Windows to become a registry server.

About this task

To define a Windows® computer as a registry host.

Log on to the host as a member of the administrators group.
Stop DevOps Code ClearCase®.
Open the ClearCase® program in Control Panel.
Click the Registry page, and then click Use local host as registry server.
Restart DevOps Code ClearCase®.

Note: After you define a new registry host, you must establish a registry password for the new registry. Otherwise, you cannot perform any privileged registry operations, such as creating public VOB tags or changing site-wide defaults.
