Assigning a DevOps Code ClearCase host's registry and region
Use this procedure to assign a DevOps Code ClearCase® host to a new registry server, a new registry region, or both.
About this task
Each DevOps Code ClearCase host
is usually configured during installation with the name of its registry
server and the name of the region of that registry in which it will
look up tags. To change either or both of these assignments:
- Specify the new registry host and region:
- On a host running Linux or the UNIX system, edit the file /var/adm/devops/clearcase/config/rgy_hosts.conf to contain the name of the new registry host and optional backup registry host; then edit the file /var/adm/devops/clearcase/config/rgy_region.conf to contain the name of a region in the new registry. You must be root to change these files.
- On a Windows® host, unmount any mounted VOBs, click , and then start the ClearCase program. On the Registry page, type the name of the new registry server host in the Use registry server on host field, and then select an appropriate region from the Windows Region list.
- Stop DevOps Code ClearCase.
- Restart DevOps Code ClearCase.
You can verify that the new region assignment is in effect by running
the cleartool hostinfo –long command.
Note: If a host has been configured to allow remote administration,
you can also use the host node of the DevOps Code ClearCase Administration
Console to change the host's registry region. You cannot use
the DevOps Code ClearCase Administration
Console to stop or start DevOps Code ClearCase on
a host.
