HCL Digital Experience integration prerequisites
Before you integrate HCL Digital Experience with HCL Commerce, consider the following limitations and prerequisites. Also ensure that you meet the hardware and software requirements.
Limitations
Consider the following limitations for the HCL Commerce integration with
HCL Digital Experience:
- Content must be published in HCL Digital Experience for it to be available in the Content Composer tool for selection. Draft content is not available for selection.
- The Asset File Upload tool uploads files and processes the URL at end in a
default single thread mode and may appear to pause and not refresh status.
As such, if you are using
dataload
to upload a large number of digital assets to HCL Digital Experience, do not cancel the job until it completes to avoid having files that are not accessible via the Customer URL. - The roles in HCL Commerce and HCL Digital Experience are different. As such, users in HCL Commerce must be assigned appropriate roles in HCL Digital Experience.
- The React Store application is enabled for HCL Digital Experience integration by default with respect to the content in the 'content-recommendation' component. If HCL Digital Experience is not used in the React Store application, if required, any code for the integration must be manually removed.
- The React Store application 'content-recommend' component is coded specific to the authoring templates shipped in HCL Digital Experience and referenced by the UUID. If you create new authoring templates, the rendering logic within this component must be replaced to recognize the new templates.
In HCL Commerce 9.1.4.0, the HCL Commerce deployment does not provide LDAP support. LDAP support is included with HCL Commerce 9.1.5.0 and above.
Prerequisites
Consider the following prerequisites before you install HCL Digital Experience and
HCL Commerce:
- HCL Digital Experience version 9.5 with cumulative fix CF 19 (95_CF19 Released 17 Nov 2020) or higher is required.
- HCL Digital Experience must be deployed in the same cluster as HCL Commerce but in different namespaces.
- For HCL Digital Experience and HCL Commerce integration, only
IBM Db2 and
Oracle databases are supported.
Important: The license for HCL Digital Experience is not included with the license for HCL Commerce and HCL Digital Experience is not bundled with HCL Commerce. You must
purchase the license for HCL Digital Experience separately.
Hardware Requirements
- For HCL Commerce hardware requirements using Kubernetes, see Hardware requirements for HCL Commerce.
- For HCL Digital Experience hardware requirements using Kubernetes, see Containerization Requirements and Limitations for HCL Digital Experience in the HCL Digital Experience documentation.
