Migrating WebSphere Commerce Developer
The following section outlines the high-level steps that must be completed to migrate your WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0 Developer environment to WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 8.0. Migrating WebSphere Commerce Developer includes completing the following steps in order.
Before you begin
- Review Planning to migrate WebSphere Commerce.
- Review the environment requirements for WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 8.0.
- Ensure that all of your customized code is complete and successfully compiling in WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0.
- Check all of your version 7.0 custom code into your source code repository.
- If Management Center was customized in version 7.0, and you want to use the customized version in version 8.0, ensure that WebSphere Commerce Developer is at WebSphere Commerce Feature Pack 2 or later.
- If your version 7.0 development database is either DB2 or Oracle, update to one of the following versions:
- DB2 10.5 Fix Pack 5 or later
- Oracle 12c
Note: When you install DB2 or Oracle, you must use the same database user name as your WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0 Developer environment. - Install WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 8.0. Notes:
- Install WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 8.0 on a separate machine from your WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0. The two installations cannot coexist on the same machine.
- Search is automatically enabled with the embedded configuration during WebSphere Commerce Developer installation.
- Install the latest Mod Pack and Fix Pack to WebSphere Commerce Version 8.0. For more information about installing maintenance on your development environment, see Installing maintenance packages for WebSphere Commerce Developer (interactive method).
